Those details describe an effort to make a large folding screen portable, but they do not settle how it feels in a pocket or hand. Nor do they establish whether the wider display will reduce app-switching enough to justify opening it.

The expected price sharpens that question. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman believe the iPhone Ultra will cost between $2000 and $2500, according to sspai.
